Virgin
16 Jun
I really hate posting the first post.
It feels so bare and irrelevant. But I guess for anything in life there must be a start point.
Recently I heard that people don’t post “First!” anymore on a new thread or topic for forums. The new term is “Virgin” (hence my blog title lol)
Ok whatever. Lets get down to business!
A friend of mine opened this bottle recently and I had the chance to taste it.
According their homepage,
Jeanneret Wines began under fairly unusual circumstances when Denis, a Swiss chemist and his wife Patricia moved to Sevenhill in the Clare Valley, South Australia. Denis decided he’d have a go at self sufficiency and, as it turned out, he was very good at making his own wine and Jeanneret Wines was created in 1992. In 1994 Denis and Pat’s son, Ben, joined the business and built a winery and planted some vines on what is now the Stumbling Block Vineyard, on the hill behind the family home.
The nose was quite strong and vibrant. I couldn’t pint point the exact berries but it definitely showing those characteristics. For a Shiraz, its quite a medium bodied wine.
However I really liked how it tasted. Soft and elegant.
It tasted like sweet plums but all I could think about was those Sara Lee strawberry flavored ice cream!
Loved that after taste! Only had 1 glass but I think I could have drank the whole thing myself.
It would have probably gone well with some nice German Sausages. Yum.
